You Just Can’t Win
… unless you’re Clinton, perhaps… from the depths of my love for infographics, here’s a compilation of presidential approval ratings since 1946. Every one of them except Clinton (and, somewhat, H.W. Bush) shows a clear downward slide from day one (of course, Clinton also starts the lowest). Many of them also show a very slight rebound right at the end.

Lessons to be learned here: we Americans have no patience, and apparently we didn’t always love war. I’m unclear on if Reagan’s midterm bump is from Granada or not.
Good luck, Mr. Obama… you’ll need it!
